Film Engine was created as a place for conversation and dialog and to build community. Here are some very basic guidelines that are designed to keep moderators as hands off as possible and give Film Engine members maximum latitude.
- Please pick whatever onscreen name you'd like to use, but please don't abuse your anonymity if you choose not to use your real or full name.
- If you do not use your offline name as your onscreen name, please use it when you sign-up for an account so at least the moderators and admins can see it. We will never divulge that information. What it does is make it easier for us to verify that you're not a bot, a spammer, or a troll. If an account cannot be verified as "a eating, crapping, it bleeds when cut human" within a reasonable amount of time, generally 3 to 14 days, moderators will ban accounts.
- Film Engine moderators will not play referee or censor. Moderators will police language and users that cross the line into bullying or sustained harassment. If someone calls you stupid or a moron (and within reason, worse), don't get mad that we won't delete it. It's the Internet and things get heated. The people who always virtually yell on it tend to sound like the crazy man on the corner, holding the sign. If you don't like what they say, ignore them. Yelling back just makes you sound just as crazy, if not crazier.
- Don't spam the board. Try to find the one thread that makes most sense and post there, don't post in 5 or 6 different boards or categories. If you legitimately have a topic or question that makes sense to cross-post into another thread, please use your discretion and just don't get too crazy with it. Or do it too often.
- If you post anything that may be NSFW or NSFC (Not Safe for Work or Not Safe For Children), please reconsider if it's appropriate to post at all. Try to keep it PG-13 and I can take my mama to this R movie safe. Moderators will not be policing for this, however we will remove anything that the majority of Film Engine users have found, or will find offensive, or moderators consider possibly illegal.
